FAME
Formative assessment is a process used during teaching and learning to improve student outcomes. It’s one of the most effective instructional interventions that schools can adopt. The formative assessment process for MPS involves:
- setting goals for learning
- engaging in activities that promote understanding and then mastering content
- eliciting evidence of student understanding
- giving and receiving timely, descriptive, and actionable feedback
- planning for future learning
